This notice describes the cookies and similar technologies used by www.romacentralguesthouse.com, in accordance with Art. 122 of Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003, Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and the Italian Data Protection Authority’s cookie guidelines (10 June 2021). 1. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser. Similar technologies serve comparable purposes: for example the browser’s local storage (localStorage) and third-party content embedded in the page (such as a map), which sends your IP address and browser data to the provider when it loads.
- Necessary tools: required for the website to work and to remember your choices. They do not require consent.
- Optional tools: usage statistics (Google Analytics) and the embedded map (Google Maps). They are enabled only after you consent.
The website does not use advertising or profiling cookies.
2. How we manage consent
- On your first visit a banner lets you accept all tools, reject non-essential ones or customise your choice by category. Optional categories stay off until you switch them on.
- Before you choose and after you reject, Google Analytics is not loaded and maps are replaced by a placeholder: no data is sent to Google.
- Your choice is stored in your browser (
rc_consententry) with its date and expiry and lasts 6 months; when it expires the banner is shown again. - You can change your mind at any time through the “Cookie preferences” link at the bottom of every page or the button below. If you withdraw consent to Google Analytics, the website disables the tool, deletes the
_gacookies and reloads the page, so no further data is collected.

* Duration set by Google Analytics. Chrome and other browsers cap cookie lifetime at 400 days. Google Analytics is configured without Google Signals and without advertising features. The website uses no other cookies or similar technologies: fonts are hosted on our own server, with no connection to Google Fonts.
4. Octorate booking engine
Clicking “Check availability” or “Search” opens the booking engine at book.octorate.com, run by Octorate S.r.l. The engine is an Octorate website and uses its own cookies, managed by Octorate under its own policy. In our check we found:

Links to WhatsApp, Facebook, X, TripAdvisor and our Google reviews are plain links: they do not load content from those services or send any data until you click them. After you click, the policies of those services apply.
6. Managing cookies in your browser
Besides the “Cookie preferences” panel, you can delete or block cookies and site data in your browser settings: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge. Deleting the site data also deletes the rc_consent preference, and the banner will be shown again.
